Busy maybe...

Well still no internet at home yet. Its taking them so long to send me the CD to install the bloody software on my computer. GAH... No internet means no pictures. I hate posting without pictures. It makes my blog look...NAKED.

Anyway my weekend was not busy one. We are currently hosting a Nepalese girl until she finds a proper place to stay with her friends. I taught her how to catch the train and bus to and from Uni and home.

I had a meeting for Friends of Nepal on Sunday. We were reconciling accounts on our event the other day. It was a success. Thank you to everyone who came.

I made Brownies and Sri Muka Kuih (Malaysia tea time treat). Brownies turned out well, I have no comment on the Sri Muka, The Custard did not set well. But it was edible. I love my new kitchen. I love cooking and baking in it. I have heaps of counter space. Hopefully you will see more food stuff here.

On another note, I was talking (emailing) a friend and she suggested that I teach kids beading during the school holiday. Nothing too complicated, just basic beading just to earn extra money. I agreed to it and now I am teaching 4-6 girls beading in July. $15 for 1.5 hours per person including materials is not bad right? I think so. I can just go to the $2 store and get cheap beads. Maybe teach them how to make man bracelets for Father's Day (BTW Father's Day in Australia is in AUGUST). I will have to think about it.

I have also told some friends or people that I know that I would be very happy to baby sit their kids when they have something to do over the weekend. I love kids and I would be very happy to do so.

Did I tell you that I love my new place? I can do heaps of things and am not ashamed to entertain or have people over anymore.

Now all I have to do is get board games to entertain myself and kids. WOOOTTT

Whirlpool...

Well well well.... the weekend came and went. Just like that. What did I do? Well... I did lots. It felt like I did nothing but trust me I did lots.

FRIDAY

Had Friday Night Dinner with the family. It will be our last one before we go on a break for Easter. We caught up on a week's worth of goss and family business. It was fun. I love our weekly dinners. Actually I look forward to it. After dinner we came over to my place and watched Cashmere Mafia. I recorded the week's episode. After that we just chilled.

SATURDAY
I sat at home sorting out accounts and orders for Pigeonhole. For those of you in Perth, Pigoenhole is Perth's tiniest design space. I am just helping Johann the owner sort out some account stuff. I did not realise that I sat on that chair for the entire afternoon. I initially wanted to go and see Sculptures by the Sea at Cottesloe beach with Nana but forgot that M had to work that day, so we did not go.

I spent the whole evening sorting out and organising my studio. I want to start work again. It took me 4 bloody hours. I mean how much stuff do I have? Well apparently LOTS and LOTS. *sigh*

SUNDAY
I had fun on Sunday. I offered to help Ali J out with her stall at the Unwrapped Market at South Perth. It was fun. I learnt a lot from the day. I wanted to by almost everything but had to stop myself because I do not have the cash flow to do so. I have several invoices that have not been paid to me yet so no cash = no buying for me. :*( I saw lots of the WA Etsy girls there showing their ware and while I was walking down the street, I was thinking that I could never match any of these girls. I will try harder though. I just have to find the time to do so.

Anyway after the market I came home, ate dinner, took my shower and went straight to bed! I was that tired. But I learnt a lot from Ali J and took notes of the do's and don'ts for the day.

Back pictures for my Project 365 will be up soon. I promise. I have been taking pictures everyday just that I have not been posting it up.

Weekend Recap...

    K    A    R    M    written in blood.jpg

I just realised that my post about Le Punks the other day did not get published. Urghh...Well what happened was that my sister Nana's house got broken into while she was just out to throw the GARBAGE. For goodness sake. The Punks must have been watching her from outside her balcony. Urrgghh... She is ok. Staying over at my place until she is ok. The punks were only in there for about 30 seconds and manage to get away with her Laptop, which was under her table by the way and also her handbag. I hope those punks get bitten by Mdm Karma hard.

Ok so here is what I did over the weekend.

FRIDAY

After work, we (M, Ms Soh and Papa Nic and I) met up for a movie and our weekly "family" dinner. We saw Die Hard 4.0. Seriously after what happened the other day with Nana, I was clapping my hands when the bad guys got shot and kicked and ran over by cars. The best part was when John used the car to blow up the Helicopter that was waiting outside the tunnel and also his giggle after that. ARRRGHHH die baddies die.  My favourite quote... "Yippie Kai Yay Motherfuckers". It was in my head the whole night.

Anyway after the movie we headed to our local Chinese Restaurant for our weekly "family" dinner. I love our little family dinner. Well I consider them part of my family by now. We vow to make it a weekly thing from now on. Its good to catch up with friends and just talk about our week. It gives us a chance to vent about things.

SATURDAY

I made dinner and watch Australia vs Japan in the Rugby World Cup 2007. Australia trashed Japan 93 (I think) - 3. It took 3 men from the Japanese team to stop 1 man from the Australian team. Wow. This year since Australia opened her arms to me, I hope they win the World Cup.

SUNDAY

I did absolutely nothing. Caught up on sleep and ate last night's left over pasta and banana cake.

Run Feli Run.....

Dscn6806 Run like the wind, with the rain and the cold. What am I talking about? Sorry for the lack of updates. M was away all week last week and I was left to take care of 2 girls. Not that I mind but it was so difficult that I had no one to complain to. :)

So here is what I did on my weekend....

FRIDAY

After work I met up with friends for a cuppa and a late night supper. We went to pick up M at the airport and was conspiring to rob people of their Krispy Kreme. We had a great night talking and laughing and being loud. It was like a happy family dinner with no fighting. .

SATURDAY

I made dinner and a banana and pecan cake for a bunch of friends. It was a fantastic night. I wanted to turn into bed early but we were talking and talking and talking till it was late.

SUNDAY

I could not sleep the whole night becuase I was so scared that I couldn't wake up for the Annual City to Surf. I did the 4Km Walk Jog. I was planning to jog a little and run a little but there were SO MANY people that I could not jog. It was really pouring and windy. Owh owh owh... I am so proud of my sister Nana because she did the 12 Km Run and RAN the whole way!!!! She did not even stop for a walk. When the people in her running group reached my starting point, I was looking out for her but she only ran past I was already lining up for my walk. My walk took me 45 minutes. Like I said there were so many people I could not even walk properly. I am going to do it again next year. It was fun. Maybe this time I will drag M or a couple of friends along too. I want to do the 12Km walk next year. YEAH. :*)

Here are a couple of picutres for you to enjoy....

Weekend Recap....

Sorry for not posting over the weekend. It was a slow weekend and I enjoyed it very much.

FRIDAY

Btrs Ljss

I received these two books in the mail and I was so excited. I was not sure if I should get them or not and I am glad that I did. :*) I could not stop staring at them.
I was determined to read book 6 of the Potter series so I made a book cover to protect the book. I know I am a little bit late since the book came out nearly 2 years ago and I have not touched it ever since I got it. Will post a picture of the book cover in another post.

SATURDAY

Slept in. The weather was not really friendly so we had to cancel our initial plan to go for a BBQ. M and I decided to watch the latest Potter movie with Nana and Tiff. The movie was fantastic. I did not expect much from it because of the last one but this one was like WOW and how grown up is Potter? I was telling Tiff that if I was still 16 I would soooo lust after Potter.
After the movie we went back to my place, chatter for a while and I continued reading the book. My plan was to read at least a hundred pages a day so that I can finish the book in six days. Six days for a book with 600 ++ pages is fast reading for me but I am determined to read it as quickly as I can so that I have the reason to get the last book.

SUNDAY

Spent a good few hours reading, drifting in and out of sleep and sipping hot tea on the couch with Toby. She helped by warming my legs. :*)

Weekend Recap...

Frame3035358_2 Well as you know I kept myself busy this weekend with my creating and beading and what not. I had fun.

FRIDAY

I came home from work and started to make cards for an order, updated my Stock count. Took pictures of all my stock and gave them each an SKU number (Item number so that its easy for me to track.)

SATURDAY

Woke up early to go to Yoga only to realise that my classes are already finish for the term. :*( Came back home hoping to fall back to sleep because it was a nice day to sleep but NO I couldn't fall back to sleep so I went on the Internet and added stuff items to the shop.  Then I got an email from a fellow blogger asking to see if I could make Stitch Markers for her and I just started making lots of them. I was surprise with myself for being able to churn that many stitch makers in one seating.

After making Stitch Markers and taking pictures of them the whole afternoon, M, Nana and I went to Sheryl's place for a Barbie. To bad it was raining so we couldnt do it outside. I had fun eating and catching up with friends. After the Barbie we moved on for coffee with Papa Nic and sat and chatted until nearly 3am. It was a fun night and a perfect way to end the day.

SUNDAY

Slept in. Went straight to the computer and started looking up on ways to play with Fimo Clay and sat the whole day doing my research and playing with Fimo Clay. Time flew by so quickly. I didn't even realise it was late. After cleaning up, I packed up some orders, birthday gifts and also "Just Because" packages. :*)

Weekend Recap...

Well what a whirlwind weekend....

FRIDAY

I met a Doctor friend of mine for dinner. We wanted to try out this Japanese place which apprently is quite good but when we got there we were told that there were no seats available for the both of us as the restaurant is fully booked. HAH... well it was empty when we got there. So we went to another cute Japanese restaurant instead. The food was brilliant and it had this real Japanese feel to it. I also saw all these cute Japanese Craft at work which by the way is sketched in my Idea book. After dinner I got home and had the whole house to myself. So I organized my bead containers. I bought 5 more containers from the $2 store. Put on Gilmore girls on the DVD and sat there organizing my beads.

SATURDAY

I woke up thinking "RINGS"!!! and there I was, watching saturday morning cartoons and beading. BOY did I bead. I made heaps and I had to go to the local bead shop near by to get more wires. I bought silver and gold wires. I was so excited. I was begining to get bored with beads so I used my collection of vintage buttons and they looked even better then the beads.

After beading the whole day, we met up with friends from work had a wonderful dinner at the Nepalese restaurant. The food was yummy as always and the company was great. BUT after dinner I was not feeling that great so we went home and I went to bed at 9.45pm!! Eeekk...

SUNDAY

Cleaned the house the whole morning, watched some TV and went to see OCEANS 13 at the local cinema for a fundraising event for the Friends of Nepal. It was a fantastic movie. Not as good as the first one but definately better then the second one. After the movie we went to Fremantle and had Croatian food for dinner. I have never tasted Croatian food before. My favourite was the cabbage and the octopus. Yummy.

I will post up pictures of the rings that I made tomorrow.

Weekend Recap...

Why no post? Well its because I am so tired. I know it was the long weekend but some how I still feel tired. I was yawning the whole day this morning and didn't know why. Anyway here is the weekend recap

Dscn5623 FRIDAY
I had dinner with Tiff. I also gave her birthday gift. Look how pretty!! I got the idea from Wrap Art I think I am going to wrap my gifts like this from now on. :*) I also made her a matchbox notepad/birthday card. After having coffee and people watching we headed down to our favourite chinese restaurant and met M, Nana and Azly there. I had a feeling that they would be there. :*) It was a good night. After dinner, Tiff and I took the bus back to my place and met one of M's friend in the Bus. He was teaching Tiff how to speak Botswanian (spelling??) and she was saying over and over again the whole night. It was funny.

SATURDAY
It started out a quiet day. I manage to finish off 2 lots of orders. Another lot is going really slow though. I made a make shift table in front of the TV and beaded with the Gilmore Girls. Owh ya... That is what I am watching now. I am almost done with Season 3. I love how witty and sarcastic they are. I have learn a few lines from them too. :*) At night, I got dress and went out with M and his friends. I was suppose to meet Tiff but M didn't want to go to the club that Tiff was at so we went to the Queens. It was a nice place. Not so crowded. After the Queens we headed to the Moon Cafe where they continued to drink and eat. I was happy listening to their stories. I had a feeling that Tiff would drop by and she did. We finished the night at about 5am and we slowly made our way back home. Changed and went to bed.

SUNDAY
It started out quiet again. Again finishing up orders and also getting a birthday gift that is long overdued together. Sat in front of the TV and watched Gilmore Girls again.  I sat there all afternoon laughing and crying :*). When M came home from his soccer I got ready and went out for dinner with Tiff and another friend again. After dinner we went to Moon Cafe again and then I went home picked M up and went to the Casino to meet up with more friends. It was a good night.

MONDAY
My plan was to vegetate again but the house was a mess so when M went out  I started doing the laundry, cleaned the toilet and dust the whole house. I was so tired at the end that all I wanted to do was to sleep. But since Monday is my TV day, meaning I get control of the big TV outside, I watched 3 of my favourite shows. Brothers & Sisters, Boston Public and Supernatural, which by the way was the kid who played Dean in Gilmore Girls and this episode, they visited a movie set and did a tour and the tour guide mentioned something about this set was also the set for Gilmore Girls and "Dean" jumped out of the train. It was funny I think.

Ok I think that sums up my weekend. I know I watch too much TV I am a TV Addict. :*)

Weekend Recap...

Poc3 Sorry about not posting my weekend recap yesterday. Was not feeling very well and even today, I still feel like shit. Anyways, here it is

Friday

After work M and I went and watch the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. We absolutely love it. I love how it ended. I love the costume for this movie. I was thinking all night about how beautiful the robe Kiera was wearing when she got captured. It was a red coloured robe. I shouldn't say much because I know some of you have not gone out to see it yet but I absolutely love all the Pirates movie. Makes me want to be a Pirate too. :*)

Saturday

Yoyo_2 After Yoga, I went straight to the Craft fair and nearly died there. This year I saved up enough for me to get anything I want and boy I wanted everything there. I spent 4 hours at the fair just going from one booth to another booth taking my time looking touching and talking to people. I was extreamely happy when I found out that we have a Bead Guild here in Western Australia. I couldn't find their website because they are revamping it, so I do not have a link for them. But I do know that they meet every first Satruday of the month. Since this Saturday, June 2 ,is going to be the first Saturday of the month I am going to check it out.

I spoke to this lovely beader too and she gave me heaps of information on beading. I was really inspired by her work. She was working on this gorgeous beaded necklace with seed beads and I wanted to sit there and just watch her do it. It was not a simple necklace too. Owh noo noo noo... this one was sewn on to one of those quilter's thing, you know the one that goews between the top part of your quilt and the bottom part of your quilt, God I can not believe I forgot the name but anyways, she said that after doing that she is going to sew it on to a leather backing and put a gem stone on it and its finish. I asked her how much will she sell it for and she said that in the UK this necklace would fetch about 1000 pounds!!! Wow... I was amazed. I hope I see her on Saturday so that I can learn this skill from her. I also asked her how long this took her and she casually said that the base took her only one evening while watching Lost on TV.

On moving along... I was walking around the beading area and guess who I saw? Mia and Kate of One Hour Craft. I plucked up the courage to go up to them and introduce myself. I was scared that they would not want to speak to me but Mia interviewed me. God. I looked horrid that day. I was wearing my track pants with my red jacket and I had no make up on. LOL. It was very nice meeting them. Mia was so excited when I told her who I was and I was so excited too. It was like meeting a celeb. HAHAHA....

I also bought my very first Yoyo maker. After seeing Karyn's yoyo I wanted to make some. I also bought Pompom makers

I picked up a couple of new skills at the craft show. I learned how to do proper card stamping, properPompommaker_2 beading techniques and also proper quilting technique. I wanted to sign up on the quilting class with the Quilter's Guild but it clashes with Yoga on Saturday morning so I decided not to do it. I also learned how to do embossing and stencilling. I bought a starter's kit and I have made a couple of things already. Hopefully I will be confident enough to start selling it to people. I also bought a light box from one of the booth there and they didnt have it on stock at the fair so they said that they will mail it to me free of charge. woohoo...

So if any of you wants a sample of these cards, drop me a comment and I will hook you up with a set.

Sunday

I woke up late. Cleaned the house a little bit and rearranged the furniture around the house. At 2pm, Tiff, her sister and her niece came over for a little beading session. Well Ashley, the niece and I had a great time beading. I taught her how to make loops and bead the proper way. I also gave her a kit and a beading magazine for her to take home. I showed Ahsley how to make bookmarks for her to sell at her school's fair.
They spent 2 hours at my house and after that I just lazed around and watch some TV. It was a fantastic way to finish up the weekend.
