Life in Mono...

SA Plans...

My family and I are going to take a small trip down to South Australia in August. It will be a very short trip because we will be going there for Chris's graduation.

So I am now trying to compile a list of things to do and see while we are there. We will be flying out of Perth on Thursday night after work and flying back in on Sunday evening. Chris has already planned Saturday for us so we need to find something to do on Friday morning till about mid afternoon before her graduation. So it will have to be something in the City.

I have already got two places in mind. One Small Room over at Croydon and the Market.

Any more suggestions?

This will be our first trip as husband and wife too. How exciting!!

Surprise number 73 : Revealed

Meet the newest addition to the SK-R family. Walter aka Wally. He is a retired Greyhound. I adopted him from Greyhounds as Pets WA. He is 8 years old and was abandoned by his last adoptive family. Poor thing.

He has settled brilliantly at home and Toby and Missy are ok with him. Missy was fantastic. She did not run or hide. Instead she came up and said "hi" and even sniffed his nose.

Toby was a little bit scared. She flared up and ran for cover. But I think she say that Missy was giving him the thumbs up, she settled down.

Wally is the sweetest dog I have ever met. Tiff read his Foster Care Booklet while I was cooking dinner, and his foster parents all loved him and gave him all good reviews. He follows you everywhere and he is gentle on his leash. I can't wait to take him for his morning walk tomorrow morning.

I am so happy. I feel that my life is complete at the moment.  Teeheee... 

All that ice...

We wnt to the Cockburn Ice Arena tonight for Tiff's birthday. its my first time on ice and I have to say that I did quite brilliantly. Its like rollerblading only a little bit slippery.

Our very first proper family photo. The best present. We went to a Korean BBQ for dinner and I received heaps of presents. DVD, Tupperware and a bread machine. :*)

Milestones...

Today marks a milestone for M and I. This is the top of our wedding cake that I saved from last year. Tradition says that you are suppose to eat the top of your wedding cake when you have your first kid but now a days people eat the cake on your first wedding anniversary.

M and I are going to have a private dinner tonight and come home and have cake for desert.

Ode to a Child

I went to a funeral today. My first one ever alone. I have never really experienced something like this. I mean, yes I was there when my Akik (granddad) and Inik (grandma) passed but I think I was too young to understand when my Akik passed and I was a teenager when my Inik passed and we were not allowed to go to the grave site. Till to day, I have no idea where they are buried.

Anyways, today was the funeral for the little girl who lost her life on Friday. I went to the Church not knowing what to say or do. As soon as I saw Aunty N's face tears immediately start to fall. I went up to see my friend and looked at the baby. She was beautiful. I was trying so hard not to cry that I had to quickly find a seat before I breakdown. M did not come with me because he couldn't get time off work. I wished he was there though.

 

I pray for my friend and her family. May they find comfort in the Lord.
