Secrets and Lies...

Farada_3

I finally finish this book while waiting for the bus today. I am glad that Its finally finish. It did not end the way that I wanted but it was such a good book.

When ever I open this book to start reading I felt like I was there with them going through all those turmoil.

It all started with a few secret diaries and it went on from there.

I love a good secret and a good family drama and this book fueled that for the past few weeks. :*)

Finished...

Caution... If you haven't read the last book of the Potter series you better stop reading now.

There was a silence in the Hall now, the kind of silence that presses against the eardrums, that seems too huge to be contained by walls.

'Give me Harry Potter,' said Voldermont's voice, ' and non shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter, and I shall leave the school untouched. Give me Harry Potter, and you will be rewarded.

'You have until midnight.'

The silance swallowed them all again. Every head turned, ever eye in the place seemed to have found Harry, to hold him frozen in the glare of thousands of invisible beams. Then a figure rose from the Slytherin table and he recognised Pansy Parkinson as she raised a shaking arm and scramed, 'But he's there! Potter's there! Someone Grab him!'

Before Harry could speak, there was a massive movement. The Gryffindors in front of him had risen and stood facing, not Harry, but the Slytherins. Then the Hufflepuffs stood, and almost at the same movement, the Ravenclaws, all of them with their backs to Harry, all of them looking towards Pansy instead, and Harry, awestruck and overwhelmed, saw wands emerging everywhere, pulled from beneath cloaks and from under sleeves.

Owh My GOD. That was my absolut favourite part in the whole book. I cried when I read that bit. I can imagine everyone just stood up all at once with their wands pointing. Why did I cry? Well its because of the loyalty and the comradery (spelling?) that this kids have. I was at a cafe when I read the book and the waiter was a little bit concern when I started bawling.

I think this is by far my favourite book. I love the epilogue at the end and I know some people think that its lame but I love it. It gives it a full circle finish if you get what I mean.

Crafty Books...

Seweasybags Organizingyourcraftspace

I joined a book club thing, you know where you get special offers from them if you buy like 6 books from them a year type thing, anyways if you are interested is Doubleday Book Club. I bought a couple of hard to find craft book which was reasonable in price. I saw these two beauties in their catalogue and I knew I have to have it. I made an order and guess what? I got them today and I have till January to pay for them. Sweet!

After what happened earlier today, it was a treat to wind down my day. I ripped the package open and sat down and started devouring the 2 books. The pictures are so pretty. I wish I could show it. Maybe I will since I have a scanner at home but I'm too stuffed to do that now.

Anyways, the first one Sew Easy Bags, you can get them on Amazon too by the way, is filled with 12 easy step by step bag projects. I feel like making them all! The great thing is that this is not like the normal book. It comes in a box with project cards in it so if I want to make something all I have to do is pull the card out and start making the project.

The second book is all about ideas on organising your craft space because we all know I need instructions on how to organize my studio. The book is filled with ideas, pictures and information. The best thing about the book are the pictures!! They are fantastic. I can't wait to read it cover to cover. Wohoo... something to look forward to.

Bergdorf Blondes

Bb_1 Ok it took me 3 weeks to read this book. Its a very funny chick lit book. I feel like I was amongst Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. Running around with expensive stuff and just being gorgeous. :*) Since I am no good in writing reviews here is one that I took from Bookreporter.com

" Meet Moi, the only name by which the heroine of BERGDORF BLONDES is identified. She's young, she's professional, she's stylish and she hangs out with those who are somebody among the somebodies in New York society.

Moi, as so many society girls do, seems to find herself in one predicament after another as she struggles to make monumental decisions such as which couture outfit to wear to which function and how to lay her hands on the latest designer bag that is in hot demand and in short supply.

In order to fully understand the party-girl world of Moi and her best friend, Julie Bergdorf, as in "Bergdorf heiress," you have to pick up their lingo as you read BERGDORF BLONDES.

For instance, a "fake bake" is a tan acquired artificially at a Portofino salon, an "ATM" is a rich boyfriend and a "PJ" is a private jet. Additionally, "going to Brazil" is Moi's unique way of referring to sexual activity (or the lack thereof, as the case sometimes may be) due to the fact that she makes sure to keep that area in shape with frequent Brazilian waxes.

Happy with her life and the special feeling that a new pair of Chloe jeans provides, Moi is suddenly thrust into discontent as she recognizes that girls who are engaged possess a superior glow altogether. Thus begins a search for a "PH." Potential Husband, duh!

Successful at this as she is at everything, Moi quickly secures Zach Nicholson, a photographer, as her fiancé. While all is perfect with Zach in the beginning, it doesn't take long until he's avoiding her calls, avoiding trips to Brazil and not behaving at all as a fiancé should. Eventually, Zach breaks their engagement and Moi makes an unsuccessful suicide attempt with a moderate amount of Advil.

Never one to remain down for long, Moi soon begins to make the rounds of the social scene again when she takes a trip to France with a married male friend, meets an "HRH," His Royal Highness, and is back on the dating scene. After all, a girl who can text her best friend during sex without her partner even knowing it isn't completely without resources.

BERGDORF BLONDES is a great read with one laugh after another. You'll feel like one of the girls as you join in the adventures of Moi and company. However, I warn you to be careful before you dive headfirst into this novel lest you hit your head on the bottom of the pool of New York society. We're definitely in shallow waters here.

London-born and Oxford-educated Plum Sykes gives us a bird's eye view of the fictional life of the young and socially prominent in New York society. A current resident of the Big Apple, Ms. Sykes is also a contributing editor at Vogue where she writes about fashion, society and Hollywood. Is it any wonder she is able to regale us with one witty tale after another in her debut novel?

From Paris to Italy

Angelsdemons Once again Dan Brown manage to drag me on an adventure. This time in Italy. If Da Vinci code brought me around Paris last May , this time he brought me all over Italy and the Vatican City, the smallest country in the world. Again another page turner. I can only imagine the places that was mentioned in the book. I have seen some of it on the Internet, thanks to Wikipedia.

Some people who has read these two books, Angels and Demons and Da Vinci Code, says that Angels and Demons is a far more better book then Da Vinci Code. I seriously think that the Movie spoilt it for the book. Some say that Da Vinci Code is better written then Angels and Demons. To me both books are fantastic. It kept me on my toes and it kept me guessing who the bad guys were. I was jumping all over the place and guessing who was the real bad person and the ending could not be better.

For those of you who enjoyed reading Da Vinci Code and haven't read this book yet you should do it and let me know what you think. I give the book 4/5 stars.

From Perth to Paris...

Davinci_code Last week I challanged myself to read Dan Brown's famous book "The Da Vinci Code" before watching his movie. I am a very slow reader. I bought this book a year ago and a week after the opening I finally finished it today!!! Thats why no post last night see. The book is a real page turner. I couldn't put it down, not even to sleep, not even to work, not even while I was walking down the street while I was doing my outside work.

I was talking to a guy at the State Revenue Office this afternoon and he saw my book and the first question he asked me was "You know the book is fiction right?" I thought it was a trick question and said "Yes, I do know its fiction" We then started talking about books. He asked me if I have seen the movie and I said no. Not until I finished the book. He said he would love to see the movie but he didn't like Tom Hanks. Fair enough.

It was sad that I had to put the book down because while I was taken on this journey to Paris and London in one night. It was amazing. I was imagining every single place that they visited. Wow... it makes me want to go on the Da Vinci trail that they do in Paris.

I give this book a 4/5 stars. :*)

Fashionistas....

Hg Another book that I finish reading. I love chick lit book and I am usually attracted to the book by its cover. Very bad of me but I cant help it. They are so pretty.

The book revolves around Emily and her fashion world and Miles. The hunky Australian Photographer. Trying her best to hide her affair with Miles from her husband.

I dont want to give away the ending for the book just in case that some of you are reading the book. I like the book eventhough it tends to repeat itself over and over again. When I got to the last chapter of the book I already knew how it was going to end. "I knew it" Was what I said then I got to the last page of the book. Its very predictable but I love it anways. :*)

I have read another book from Maggie, "Mad about the boy" which is interesting too. I am going to get another. "Pants on Fire"
